The weight of copper is 2.1 g.

Given data :

• The ratio of gold to copper in the ornament is 93:7.

So,Gold : Copper = 93:7

The total weight of ornament = 30g

• Let,the variable = x (Here x is assumed as a variable to calculate the weight of the gold and copper present in that piece of ornament)

• So, the weight of gold and copper by multiplying the variable to respective ratio elements are -

Gold = 93x

Copper = 7x

• Now,to form an equation,we will take the total weight of the ornament as the RHS of the equation.

So,the equation will be -

93x+7x = 30

100x = 30

x = 30/100

x = 0.3

The value of the variable is 0.3.

• Now,Copper amount in the ornament = (value of the variable × value of the respective ratio term )= (0.3×7) = 2.1 g

There is 2.1 g of copper in that piece of ornament. (Answer)
