Ratio of green tiles to purple tiles = 5:8

Number of purple tiles = 72

Let number of green tiles be x

Now let us break it down

5:8 and x:72 must be in proportion. So equate it.

\frac{5}{8}  = \frac{x}{72}

Cross multiply

8x = 72 x 5

x = 72 x 5/8

x = 9 x 5 = 45

So there are 45 green tiles.
