Let hydrogen be x.

let oxygen be y.

y=8x.

Given oxygen, y=12

From the equation y=8x,

12= 8x

x = 12/8=1.5 gm

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Concept:

The concept of ratio and proportion will help us to solve this question.

Given:

The ratio  in water of hydrogen and oxygen is 1:8. According to the graph ,  the amount oxygen is 12g .

To Find:

We have to draw the graph and get the amount of the hydrogen if the amount of oxygent is 12g .

Solution:

Consider the amount of hydrogen is x and the amount of oxygen is y .

So we can write y=8x .

the amount of oxygen is 12g which is given in the question.

The equation can be written as 12=8x .

The value of x is x=\frac{12}{8} =1.5 g.

The amount of hydrogen is 1.5g if the oxygen is 12g .
