Question:

The ratio of income of two persons a and b is 9:4 and the ratio of their expenditure is 3:1 .If each of them manages to save rupees 1000, then the income of B is ?

Answer:

Income of Person  B = Rs. 2666.64

Explanations:

Given:

Ratio of income of two persons a and b is 9:4.

Ratio of their expenditure is 3:1 .

They save money , 1000

Method of Solution:

Let income of A and B be 9x and 4x respectively. Also, their expenditure is 3y and y.

Income = 9x : 4x

Expenditure = 3y : y

Saving = 1000 : 1000

Note:[ Income - Saving = Expenditure]

9x - 1000 / 4x-1000 = 3/1

9x-1000 = 3(4x-1000)

9x -1000 = 12x - 3000

9x-12x = -3000+1000

-3x = -2000

∴ x = 2000/3 = 666.66

Now, According to the Question's Statement!

Income of Person B = 666.6667× 4

Income of Person B =2666.64

Hence, Required Income of Person B = Rs 2666.64

Given:-

Ratio of income of two persons a and b = 9:4.

Ratio of their expenditure = 3:1 .

They save money = 1000

Income = 9x : 4x

Expenditure = 3y : y

Saving = 1000 : 1000

9x - 1000 ÷4x-1000 = 3÷1

9x-1000 = 3(4x-1000)

9x -1000 = 12x - 3000

9x-12x = -3000+1000

-3x = -2000

x = 2000/3 = 666.6666667

Income of Person B = 666.666667× 4

Income of Person B = 2666.66
