let Rs x and Rs y be the incomes of the two persons

we have,
x/y = 9/7
=> x = 9y/7 --- (1)

by question,
(x-2000)/(y-2000) = 4/3
=> 3x - 6000 = 4y - 8000
=> 3(9y/7) - 4y = -8000 + 6000
=> 27y/7 - 4y = -2000
=> -y/7 = -2000
=> -y = -14000
=> y = 14000

putting y = 14000 in (1)
=> x = (9×14000)/7
=> x = 126000/7
=> x = 18000

therefore their incomes are Rs 14000 and Rs 18000
