Let the expenditure be ₹ x.

According to condition,

7:6 :: 14000:x

or, 7/6 = 14000/x

or, 7x = 14000×6

or, 7x = 84000

or, x = 84000/7

or, x = 12000

So, expenditure = ₹ x = ₹ 12000

Savings = ₹ (14000-12000) = ₹ 2000.

Hence, the savings is ₹ 2000.
