Let the total income of A and B be x.

Sum of the ratios = 2 + 3 = 5

A's income = 2/5x

B's income = 3/5x

The expenditure of A = 2/5x - 24000

The expenditure of B = 3/5x - 24000

the ratio of their expenditures:

(0.4x - 24000) / (0.6x - 24000) = 1/2

2(0.4x - 24000) = 0.6x - 24000

0.8x - 48000 = 0.6x - 24000

0.8x - 0.6x = - 24000 + 48000

0.2x = 24000

x = 120000

A's income = 0.4 × 120000 = 48000

B's income = 0.6 × 120000 = 72000
