Let the incomes of A be 9x and let the income of B be 7x.

As per the question, the expenditure of A is 4x and the expenditure of B is 3x.

Therefore the equation for the above two conditions:

We know that, Income - Expenditure = Savings.

So the equation becomes :

9x- 4y =2000______1.

7x- 3y = 2000______2.

Solving the equation by elimination method,

the value of x=2000

the value of y= 4000

Therefore monthly income of A= 9x = 9* 2000= 18000

and monthly income of B=7x= 7*2000=14000

ANS: Monthly income of A=18000

Monthly income of B= 14000
