Let the masses of two bodies be m and M and the velocities be v and V respectively.
Given,
1/2MV² : 1/2mv² = 2:1. ———>1
MV : mv = 1:2. ———>2
Putting equation 2 in 1,
1/2 × 1 × V² : 1/2 × 2 × v² = 2:1
=>V² : v² = 4:1 ———>3
Putting equation 3 in 1,
1/2 × M × 2 : 1/2 × m × 1 = 2:1
=>M : m = 8 : 1.

Hope this will help you.

Hi mate!!!

K.E = p² / 2m

K.E)1 = 1 / 2m1....... equation 1

K.E)2 = 4 / 2m2...... equation 2

K.E)1 / K.E)2 = 2:1

On diving both the equations we get

2 :1 = (1/2m1 ) / (2/ m2)

m1 : m2 = 1:8

Have a nice time
