Given:-

  • Ratio of length : breadth of rectangle = 2 : 1
  • Perimeter of rectangle = 48 cm

To find:-

  • Area of the rectangle

Answer:-

As it is given that, the ratio of the length : breadth is 2 : 1,

▪Let the length be 2x

▪Let the breadth be x

Now, we know that, for a rectangle,

P = 2(l + b)

where,

  • P is perimeter
  • l is length
  • b is breadth

So, putting the values given in the question,

48 = 2(2x + x)

→ 48 = 2(3x)

→ 48 = 6x

→ x = 8 cm

So,

▪Length = 2x = (2 * 8) cm = 16 cm

▪Breadth = x = 8 cm

We know that, for a rectangle,

A = l * b

where,

  • A is area
  • l is length
  • b is breadth

So, putting the values,

A = 16 cm * 8 cm

A = 128 cm² Ans

Answer :-

Let the length be 2x

Breadth = x

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( l + b ) = 48

➩ 2 ( 2x + x ) = 48

➩ 2 ( 3x ) = 48

➩ 6x = 48

➩ x = 48/6

➩ x = 8

  • Length = 2x = 2 × 8 = 16 cm
  • Breadth = x = 8 cm

Area = Length × Breadth

= 16 × 8

= 128 cm²

Area of rectangle = 128 cm²
