Given :-

  • The ratio of length and breadth of a room is 3 : 2.

  • The sum of length and breadth is 40 m.

To Find :-

  • Breadth of the Room.

Solution :-

As ratio of length and breadth of room is 3 : 2.

Let,

  • Length of Room = 3x meter

  • Breadth of Room = 2x meter

According To Question :

  \red{\text{Length + Breadth = 40}} \\

:\longmapsto3 \text x + 2\text x = 40 \\

:\longmapsto5\text x = 40 \\

:\longmapsto\text x =   \cancel\frac{40}{5}  \\

\purple{ \Large :\longmapsto  \underline {\boxed{{\bf x = 8} }}} \\

Hence,

  • Length = 3 × x = 3 × 8 = 24 m

  • Breadth = 2 × x = 2 × 8 = 16 m

So,

\large\underline{\pink{\underline{\frak{\pmb{ Breadth  \: of  \: Room = 16  \: m  }}}}}

GIVEN THAT :-

• Ratio of length and breadth of room = 3:2

• Sum of length and breadth = 40m

TO FIND OUT:-

• Breadth

SOLUTION:-

Let the length and breadth be 3x and 2x

 \textbf{3x + 2x = \: 40}

 \rightarrow \textbf{5x =  \: 40}

 \rightarrow \textbf{x =  } \frac{40}{5}  \\

 \rightarrow \textbf{x = 8}

So,

Length = 8 × 3 = 24cm

Breadth = 8 × 2 = 16cm

 \therefore   \:  \:  \textbf{Breadth \:  = 16}
