The ratio of length, breadth and height of a cuboid is 3 : 2:1. If the volume of the cuboid is 48 m cube, find the base area of the cuboid.​

Solution :

  • Given :- L : B : H = 3 : 2 : 1 , V = 48 m³
  • To find :- Base Area = ?

Here ,

Given that the ratio of length , breadth and height is 3 : 2 : 1 .

Thus ,

Let L = 3x , B = 2x , H = x

Also ,

=> Volume , V = 48

=> L • B • H = 48

=> 3x • 2x • x = 48

=> 6x³ = 48

=> x³ = 48/6

=> x³ = 8

=> x³ = 2³

=> x = 2

Thus ,

→ L = 3x = 3•2 = 6 m

→ B = 2x = 2•2 = 4 m

→ H = x = 2 m

Now ,

Area of base = L×B = 6×4 = 24 m²

Hence ,

Base area = 24 m²
