=male / female

5/3 = 115 / female

5×female = 115 ×3

5× female = 345

female = 345/5

female = 69

Given :

  • the ratio of male and female workers in a textile mill is 5:3
  • 115 male workers are there.

To find :

  • how many female are there

Solution :

We have male and female 5:3

so let there be 5 x be male workers and 3 x be female workers it is given that there are 115 male workers

=> 5x = 115

(5x/5) = (115/5) .(divide by both side by 5)

x = 23

=> No. of female workers = 3x = 3 x 23

= 69

--> Thus there are 69 female workers in textile mill
