the ratio of meera's age to ritu's age is 6:7. after 12 years ,the ratio of their ages will be12:13. find their present ages

Let Age of Meera & Ritu be 6x & 7x

after twelve years :

6x + 12 : 7x + 12 = 12 : 13

=> 78x + 12×13 = 84x + 12×12

=> 84x - 78x = 12( 13 -12)

=> 6x = 12

=> x = 2

So, their present age will be 6×2 & 7×2

i.e., 12 years and 14 years respectively.
