Answer:

The no. of present women workers is 45.

Explanation:

The ratio of men and women is 1:3.

Let the number of men and women workers presently be

1x and 3x

If the number of men increases by 5,it will become 'x+5'

and

If the number of women decreases by 5. it will become '3x-5'

 \frac{1}{2}  =  \frac{x + 5}{3x - 5}

Cross multiply

1(3x-5) = 2(x+5)

3x-5 = 2x +10

3x-2x = 10 + 5

x = 15

The no. of present women workers is 3x

=3×15 = 45

Hope this helps.

ratio of men and women in company =

 \frac{1x}{3x}

if the number of men increases by 5 and number of women reduces by 5 the ratio becomes...

 \frac{1x + 5}{3x - 5}  =  \frac{1}{2}

solving equation by cross multiplication we get

2x+10 = 3x-5

x=15

Number of women workers presently

= 3x-5

= 3(15)-5

= 40

40 is required answer
