The ratio of metal A and metal B in an alloy is 5:7. Find the weight of metal A in 14.4 g wt of the alloy.

Let the weight of the metal be 5x and 7x
Therefore total weight= 5x+7x= 12x
According to the problem,
12x=14.4
or, x= 14.4/12= 1.2
