The ratio of milk and water in 64 liters of a mixture is 5 : 3 . what amount of water is added to make the ratio 3 : 5 ?​

Here is your answer:

Ratio of milk and water 5:3

Let the milk and water be 5x and 3x respectively

64=5x+3x

64=8x

x=8

so 3x=8×3=24

5x=8×5=40

So 40 litres is milk

and 24 litres is water

40:24=5:3

 \frac{24}{40}  \times  \frac{2}{2}  =  \frac{3}{5}

If we reciprocate the number we will get 3:5 as are answer so

there will be 24 litres of milk and

40 litres of water.
