Answer:

Volume of Milk present in 72.90 litres of 7:2 ratio milk-water mixture= 7/9 x 72.9= 56.7 Litres. So volume of milk present in 7:3 ratio milk-water mixture= 56.7 Litres. Therefore total volume of milk-water= 56.7 x 10/7= 81 Litres. Volume of water in the 7:3 mixture =81–56.7= 24.3 Litres.

Given:

The ratio of milk and water is 7:2.

Mixture quantity=72.9 L

To Find:

Separate quantity of milk and water.

Solution:

In the given mixture 7 parts are milk and 2 parts are water.

Total quantity = (7+2)

                       = 9 parts

The value of the 9 parts is 72.9L

Therefore, the value of 1 part = (72.9/9)

                                                 = 8.1L

So,

The value of 7 parts  = 7×(8.1)

                                   = 56.7L

The value of 2 parts  = 2×(8.1)

                                   = 16.2L

Hence, the quantity of milk is 56.7 liters and water is 16.2 liters.
