Answer:

Monthly income of Akbar = 9 × 5000 = ₹45000

Monthly income of Rohan = 7 × 5000 = ₹35000

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • The ratio of monthly income of Akbar and Rohan is 9 : 7
  • Ratio of their expenditure is 4 : 3
  • Each of them manages to save  5000 per month.

To find:

Their monthly income.

Solution:

Let the monthly income of Akbar and Rohan be 9x and 7x respectively.

Let their expenditure be 4y and 3y respectively.

A/q

        9x - 4y = 5000   ----- (i)

&      7x - 3y = 5000   ----- (ii)

Multiplying eq (i) by 3 and eq (ii) by 4,

[ 9x - 4y = 5000 ] × 3

⇒ 27x - 12y = 15000  ----- (iii)

[ 7x - 3y = 5000 ] × 4

⇒ 28x - 12y = 20000  ----- (iv)

Subtracting (iii) from (iv),

    28x - 12y = 20000

    27x - 12y =  15000

   -       +         -

        x = 5000

Hence,

Monthly income of Akbar = 9 × 5000 = ₹45000

Monthly income of Rohan = 7 × 5000 = ₹35000
