Correct Question:-

The ratio of monthly income to the savings of a family is 11 : 2. If the saving be Rs.2500. Find the the income and expenditure.

Answer:-

Given:

The ratio of monthly income to savings of a family = 11 : 2.

Savings = Rs. 2500

Let the value of income and savings be 11x , 2x.

According to the question,

→ 2x = 2500

→ x = 2500/2

→ x = 1250

Hence,

Income of the family = 11x = 11(1250) = Rs. 13,750

We know that,

Expenditure = Income - savings

Hence,

→ Expenditures of the family = 13750 - 2500

Expenditures of the family = Rs. 11250

Therefore,

  • Income of the family is Rs. 13,750.

  • Value of Expenditures is Rs. 11,250.
