Savings=2A,

then
expenditure=7A-2A=5A,

A.T.Q
2A=500,

A=250,

then
income=7×250=1750 rs,

\mathfrak{Question:}

The ratio of monthly income to the saving in a family is 7:2 if the savings be Rs.500,find the income and the expenditure ?

\mathfrak{Solution:}

Let the monthly income and saving in a family be Rs. 7x and Rs. 2x respectively.

\mathfrak{Given\;in\;the\;question:}

  • The savings of the family = Rs. 500.

\mathfrak{According\;to\;question:}

\implies\tt{2x = 500}\\\\\\\implies\tt{x=\dfrac{500}{2}}\\\\\therefore\qquad \tt{x=250.}\\\\\\\boxed{\textsf{Expenditure = Total income - Saving}}\\\\\\\tt{So}

\boxed{\boxed{\mathsf{Expenses=7x-2x=5x=5*250=Rs.1250.}}}

\boxed{\boxed{\mathsf{Income=7x=7*250=Rs.1750.}}}
