Answer:

Explanation:

ratio of momentum to kinetic energy is 1:2

\frac{mv}{\frac{1}{2}mv^{2}  }=1/2

2/v=1/2

v=4

Question :-

The ratio of mumentum to kinetic energy is 1:2 of a moving body. Find the vilocity of particle.

Answer :-

v = 0 or v = 4

Solution :-

Given -

  • Momentum / K.E. = ½

To Find -

  • velocity

Process -

let the velocity and the mass of the body be v and m respectively.

Now,

A/q,

Momentum / K.E. = ½

=> 2 × momentum = K.E.

=> 2 × m × v = ½ × m × v²

=> 2 × v = ½ × v²

=> 4v = v²

=> v² - 4v = 0

=> v(v - 4) = 0

=> v = 0 or v - 4 = 0

=> v = 0 or v = 4

________________

Hence, the velocity of the body is either 0 or 4 units/sec.
