Let the no. of males and females be 4x and 5x

so,

total population= 4x+5x = 18900000

9x = 18900000

x = 18900000/9

x = 2100000

so, no. of males = 4x = 4×2100000

= 8400000

= 8.4million

so, no. of females= 5x = 5×2100000

= 10.500000

= 10.5million
