Let the number of apples be 4x and the number of oranges be 3x.

Now according to the question,

 \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \frac{3x}{4x - 4} = \frac{3}{2} \\ = > \: \: \: \: \: 2 \times 3x = 3(4x - 4) \\ = > \: \: \ \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: 6x = 12x - 12 \\ = > 12x - 6x = 12 \\ = > \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: 6x = 12 \\ = > \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: x = \frac{12}{6} \\ = > \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: x = 6

So, the number of oranges = 3x = 3×6 = 18

\huge{\orange{\boxed{The \: number \: of \: oranges = 18}}}
