TOTAL

Copper (let copper be 5x) = 35.5 gram

zinc(let zinc be 7x)

so, let's find x

5x = 35.5 (given)

x = 35.5 / 5

x = 7.1

now, zinc = 7x ( place the value of x)

= 7 × 7.1

zinc = 49.7

how that i explained well

Answer:

Given the ratio of copper and zinc in an alloy is 5:3.

Let weight of copper and zinc be 5x and 3x.

Then according to the problem we have,

5x=30.5

x= 30.5/5

thus, x= 6.1

Then weight of zinc is 3×6.1=18.3 g
