Peak factor=  $\frac{max value}{rms value}$

Hence for sinusoidal quantity, we have

Peak factor = $\frac{max value}{rms value}$

= $\frac{max value}{ (0.707*max value)}$

=$\frac{1}{ 0.707}$

Peak factor= 1.414

• The ratio of RMS value to the average value of an  alternating quantity is called form factor.  

Form factor = rms value / average value

Hence for a sinusoidal quantity, we  have
