The ratio of present ages of Amar and Akbar is 6:7. 5 years ago sum of their ages was 55 find their present age?

Present age of Akbar = 7x

5 years ago,

Amar's age = 6x - 5

Akbar's age = 7x - 5

Sum of their ages = 55

THE EQUATION FORMED

=> 6x - 5 + 7x - 5 = 55

=> 13x - 10 = 55

=> 13x = 55 + 10

=> x = 65/13

=> x = 5

Present age of Akbar = 7x

Given that

5 years ago

Amar's age = 6x - 5

Akbar's age = 7x - 5

Sum of their ages = 55

A/q

=> 6x - 5 + 7x - 5 = 55

=> 13x - 10 = 55

=> 13x = 55 + 10

=> x = 65/13

=> x = 5

Hence

Amar's present age = 6 × 5 = 30 years

Akbar's present age = 7 × 5 = 35 years
