let the present age of mohit be 11x

let the present age of mayank be 8x

after 8 years

mohit=11x+8

mayank=8x+8

11x+8/8x+8= 5/4

now we will do cross multiplication

4(11x+8)= 5(8x+8)

44x+32= 40x+40

44x-40x= 40-32

4x= 8

x=8/4

x= 2

So Mohit = 2 × 11 = 22 yrs
