Given :- The ratio of the present age of Pramod and Deepak is 3:4, after 8 years, ratio will be 5:6.

To find :- What is the present age of Pramod.

Solution :-

Let us assume that, the present age of pramod and Deepak is 3x and 4x respectively.

Again, let us assume that, after 8 years the age is 5x and 6x respectively.

after 8 years,

  • Pramod age = 3x + 8 = 5.

then,

→ 3x + 8 = 5x

→ 3x + 8 - 5x = 0

→ 3x - 5x = -8

→ -2x = -8

→ 2x = 8

→ x = 8/2

x = 4

therefore,

  • Pramod age, 3x = 3 * 4 = 12 (Ans.)

Hence, the present age of pramod is 12 years years.

Pramod's present age

Solution :-

Let the ratio of present age be 3x and 4x. After 8 years

3x + 8/4x + 8 = 5/6

6(3x + 8) = 5(4x + 8)

18x + 48 = 20x + 40

20x - 18x = 48 - 40

2x = 8

x = 8/2

x = 4

So,

Present age of Pramod = 3(4) = 12 years
