  • Rehana's age = 2x
  • Mother age = 7x

  • Rehana's age = 2x + 2
  • Mother's age = 7x + 2

After two years,

  • Ratio = 1 : 3

Then,

→ 2x + 2 : 7x + 2 = 1 : 3

→ 2x + 2/7x + 2 × 1/3

→ 3(2x + 2) = 7x + 2

→ 6x + 6 = 7x + 2

→ 7x + 2 - 6x - 6 = 0

→ x - 4 = 0

x = 4

Hence,

  • Rehana's present age = 2(4) = 8
  • Rehana's present age is 8 years.
