6
the ratio of present ages of Suresh and Mahesh is 7:5
so Suresh/Mahesh = 7/5................(1)
after 6 years their age will be 4:3
so subtract 6 from the above ratio to change to present age
then Suresh/Mahesh = (4x - 6)/(3x - 6)...........(2)
equate (1) and (2)
7/5 = (4x - 6)/(3x - 6)
7(3x - 6) = 5(4x - 6)
21x - 42 = 20x - 30
21x - 20x = 42 - 30
x = 12
age of Suresh = 4x - 12 = 4*12 - 12 = 48 - 12 = 36
age of Mahesh = 3x - 12 = 3*12 - 12 = 36 - 12 = 24
