Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

X/Y =1/2 => 2X-Y =0

X-6/Y-6= 1/3 => 3X-Y= 12

X =12, Then Y =24

So after six years 18/30 = 3/5

Let the ages of the sisters be x and 2x respectively, where x is any constant.

1st sister's age 6 years back = x - 6

2nd sister's age 6 years back = 2x - 6

( x - 6 ) / ( 2x - 6 ) = 1 / 3

3x - 18 = 2x - 6

3x - 2x = -6 + 18

x = 12

1st sister age after 6 years = 12 + 6 = 18 years

2nd sister age after 6 years = 24 + 6 = 30 years

Therefore, ratio = 18 / 30

= 3:5

Hope this helps you

Have a nice day :)
