LET the age of raj be 3x and sameer's age be 4x

therefore their ages after 4 years will be

3x + 4

4x + 4 respectively

this is equal to 4y and 5y of that age

therefore atq

3x + 4 = 4y - eq 1

4x + 4 = 5y - eq 2

subtract eq 1 from eq 2

x = y

therefore

3x + 4 = 4x

- x = - 4 or x = 4

Therefore present age of raj = 3 × 4 = 12 years

and sameer = 4 × 4 = 16

Question:-

  • The ratio of Raj and Sameer is 3:4.After 4 years the ratio of their ages will be 4:5.find their ages.

________________________

Answer:-

✏ Age of Raj is 12 years

✏ Age of Sameer is 16 years

__________

Step by step explanation:-

Let the Raj present age be 3x

And let the Sameer present age be 4x

After 4 years

Raj age be 3x +4

Sameer age be 4x + 4

Now According to question

⇢ \frac{3x + 4}{4x + 4}  =  \frac{4}{5}

Now do cross multiplication

⇢5(3x + 4) = 4(4x + 4) \\  \\ ⇢15x + 20 = 16x + 16 \\  \\ ⇢20 - 16 = 16x + 15x \\  \\⇢ x = 4

So the value of x is 4

______

☞ Present age of Raj = 3x = 3× 4 = 12 yrs

☞ Present age of Sameer = 4x = 16 years
