the ratio of ram and rejesh balloons is 3:1 if ram gives two balloons to rajesh,the ratio will be 2:1. how many balloons does ram have?

Since the original ratio between ram and rajesh is 3 : 1
Let the original number of balloons with rajesh be x
Therefore the original number balloons with ram will be 3×x =3x
Now according to question ram gives 2 balloons to rajesh.
Therefore ram loses 2 balloons = original number of balloons - 2 balloons given
=3x - 2
rajesh gains to 2 balloons = original number of balloons + 2 balloons
= x+2
Now after giving 2 balloons to rajesh ratio becomes 2 : 1 which gives equation
(3x - 2) ÷ (x + 2) = 2 ÷1 [ now cross
mutiply]
3x - 2 = 2x + 4
3x - 2x = 4 +2
x = 6
Therefore ram originally has 3x = 3× 6 = 18 balloons
After giving he has 3x -2 = 3× 6 - 2
= 18 - 2 =16 balloons
