The amount of money is left with C after expenditure on rent = 275044

Given :

  • The ratio of salary of A and B is 5 : 7 and that of B and C is 3 : 5.

  • The salary of A is 165000 and C spends 28.56% of his salary on rent

To find :

The amount of money is left with C after expenditure on rent

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Calculate the salary of C

The ratio of salary of A and B is 5 : 7 and that of B and C is 3 : 5

Salary of A : Salary of B = 5 : 7 = 15 : 21

Salary of B : Salary of C = 3 : 5 = 21 : 35

∴ Salary of A : Salary of B : Salary of C = 15 : 21 : 35

Let Salary of A , Salary of B , Salary of C are 15x , 21x and 35x respectively

Since salary of A is 165000

∴ 15x = 165000

⇒ x = 165000/15

⇒ x = 11000

∴ Salary of C

= 35 × 11000

= 385000

Step 2 of 2 :

Calculate amount of money is left with C after expenditure on rent

C spends 28.56% of his salary on rent

∴ Amount of money expenditure on rent

\displaystyle \sf   = 385000 \times  \frac{28.56}{100}

\displaystyle \sf = 109956

Hence amount of money is left with C after expenditure on rent

= 385000 - 109956

= 275044
