Given:

✰ The ratio of speed A and B is 4:7

✰ A loses the race by 300

To find:

✠ The length of race course

Solution:

Let, a and b be the speeds of A and B respectively.

Now, we know that the ratio of speed A and B is 4:7

So,

➲ a/b = 4/7

➲ a = 4/7 b

Now, we know that A loses the race by 300 m

➩ b - a = 300

Substitute the value of 'a' in the equation, we have

➩ b - 4/7b = 300

➩ b - 4/7b = 300

Taking L.C.M,

➩ 7b - 4b/7 = 300

➩ 3b/7 = 300

➩ b = 300 × 7/3

➩ b = 100 × 7

➩ b = 700 m

As B reaches at end post first, his run will be equal to length of the tract....

∴ The length of race course or tract = 700 m
