the ratio of speed of a and b is 3 ratio 5 if a takes 24 hours more than B to cover a certain distance and how much time will be take to cover the same distance....try this out​

Let the speed of a be 3x

Let the speed of b be 5x

Let the certain distance covered be = y

We know time = distance / speed

Time taken by a = y / 3x

Time taken by b = y / 5x

according to question

y / 3x = 24 + ( y / 5x )

multiply by 15x throughout

y × ( 5 ) = ( 24 × 15x ) + ( y × 3 )

5y – 3y = 360x

2y = 360x

y = 180x. – ( 1 )

Ans : Time taken by b to cover the same distance = y / 5x = 180x / 5x = 36 hours
