Given,

The ratio of speed of two trains per hour is 7:9

The faster train covers the distance of 630 kilometres in 14 hours.

To find,

The time time taken by the other train to cover the same distance.

Solution,

Let,the speed of the two train = 7x km/h and 9x km/h

[Assume,x as a variable to do the further mathematical calculations.]

Now,the faster train,

Covers in 14 hours = 630 kilometres

Covers in 1 hour = 630/14 = 45 kilometres

The speed of the faster train = 45 km/h

Now,if we compare the two values of the speed of the faster train,then we will get the following mathematical equation,

9x = 45

x = 5

So,the speed of the slower train

= 7×5

= 35 km/h

The slower train

Goes 35 km in = 1 hour

Goes 1 km in = 1/35 hour

Goes 630 km in = 630/35 = 18 hours

Hence,the other train will take 18 hours to cover the same distance.
