Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

SURESH = 3X

AMAN = 8X

SO AFTER 8 YEARS = 3X + 8 / 8X + 8 = 1/2

3x + 8 * 2 = 6x + 16

8x + 8 * 1 = 8x + 8

6x + 16 = 8x + 8

16 - 8 = 8x - 6x

8 = 2x

X = 8 / 2

= 4

Suresh = 3x = 3 * 4 = 12

Aman = 8x = 8 * 4 = 32

Difference = 32 - 12 = 20

Answer:

20 years

Step-by-step explanation:

let 'S' be the age of suresh

let 'A' be the age of aman

the ratio simply means

S/A = 3/8

(S + 8) / ( A + 8) = 1/2

solve for 'A' in equation 2

(S + 8) / (A + 8) = 1/2

S + 8 = 0.5A + 4

(S + 4) / 0.5 = A

A = 2S + 8

substitute 'A' in the first equation

S/ (2S +8) = 3/8

8S = (2S + 8) x 3

8S = 6S + 24

2S = 24

S = 12

Now solve for 'A' ( by substituting the value of S) in either equations

A = 2S + 8

A = ( 2 X 12) + 8

A = 32

You can recheck if A ans S values are correct by inserting them in equations

difference between their ages now .

( after 8 years)

32 + 8 =40

12 + 8 = 20

40 - 20 = 20
