let side of first cube be 'a' and of second cube be 'b'
surface area of a cube is 4 * side
4a/4b = 1/9
a/b = 1/9
volume of a cube is (side)^3
so a^3/b^3 = (1/9)^3 = 1/729
hope it helps!
