solu: Let the age of Father be 5x

then the age of son is 2x .

now according to question

Product of the ages = 1000

⇒ (5x)×(2x) = 1000

⇒ 10x² = 1000

⇒ x² = 100

⇒ x = √100

⇒ x = 10

hence the present age of Father = 5×10 = 50 yrs
