By cross multiplication

⇒ 5(2x - 8) = 2(3x - 8)

⇒ 10x - 40 = 6x - 16

⇒ x = 24/4

⇒ x = 6

Age of Riti = 2x = 2(6) = 12 years

Age of Nakul = 3x = 3(6) = 18 years
