the ratio of the ages of Raja and rani is 4:9. ten years hence , the sum of their ages will be 85 years. Find the present ages of raja and rani.

the equation is 10 +4x+9x+10=85

hence 4x+9x=85-20

and, 13x=65

also,x=65/13

so,x=5

and,since their ages are in the ratio 4:9

4x=20 and 5x=25
