Answer:

present age of Ram is 30 years and present age of Gopal is 40 years.

Step-by-step explanation:

The ratio of the ages of Ram and Gopal is 3:4.

Hence Ram's present age is 3x yrs and Gopal's present age is 4x yrs.

The difference between their ages after two years will be 10.

After 2 yrs Ram’s and Gopal’s age will be (3x + 2) yrs. and (4x + 2) .Acordingly difference in their ages

(4x + 2) - (3x + 2) = 10

4x + 2 - 3x - 2 = 10

4x - 3x = 10 – 2 + 2

x = 8 + 2

x = 10

The rational is 10, therefore their present ages

Present age of Ram, 3x = 3 × 10 = 30 yrs.

Present age of Gopal 4x = 4 × 10= 40 years

Given :-

◉ Ratio of the ages of ram and gopal is 3:4 which means 3 times Ram's age is equal to 4 times gopal's age.

◉ After 2 years, the difference in thier thier ages would be 10.

To Find :-

◉ Present ages of Ram and Gopal.

Solution :-

Let the present ages of ram and gopal be x and y respectively.

According to the question,

Case 1 :

3 times Ram's age is equal to 4 times gopal's age

3x = 4y

3x - 4y = 0 ...(1)

Case 2 :

⇒ After 2 years, Difference in thier ages would be 10.

(x + 2) - (y + 2) = 10

⇒ x + 2 - y - 2 = 10

⇒ x - y = 10

x = 10 + y ...(2)

Substituting x = 10 + y in (1), we have

⇒ 3(10 + y) - 4y = 0

⇒ 30 + 3y - 4y = 0

y = 30

Now, Put y = 30 in (2), we get

⇒ x = 10 + 30

x = 40

Hence, age of ram is 40 years while age of gopal is 30 years.
