Step-by-step explanation:

Let Ram’s age be r, and let Gopal’s age be g.

The difference between their ages after two years will be 10. That means the difference is 10 now, too.

g - r = 10

The ratio of their ages is 3:4.

r / g = 3 / 4

r = 3/4 g

g - 3/4 g = 10

1/4 g = 10

g = 40

r = g - 10 = 30

Answer: Gopal is 40 years old, Ram is 30.

hope it helps...

Given :

  • Ratio of ages of Ram and Gopal is 3:4.
  • After 2 years the difference between their ages will be 10.

To Find :

  • Present Age of Ram and Gopal.

Solution :

\longmapsto\tt{Let\:Present\:Age\:of\:Ram=3x}

\longmapsto\tt{Let\:Present\:Age\:of\:Gopal=4x}

After 2 years :

\longmapsto\tt{Age\:of\:Ram=3x+2}

\longmapsto\tt{Age\:of\:Gopal=4x+2}

A.T.Q :

\longmapsto\tt{(4x+2)-(3x+2)=10}

\longmapsto\tt{4x{\cancel{+2}}-3x{\cancel{-2}}=10}

\longmapsto\tt{1x=10}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{x=10}

Value of x is 10...

Therefore :

\longmapsto\tt{Present\:Age\:of\:Ram=3(10)}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{30\:yrs.}

\longmapsto\tt{Present\:Age\:of\:Gopal=4(10)}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{40\:yrs.}
