Let Present age of ramu  = 4x years

      Present age of gopi = 3x years

Age of ramu after 2 years = (4x + 2) years

Age of gopi after 2 years = (3x + 2) years

ATQ,

(4x + 2) : (3x + 2) = 5 : 4

4(4x + 2) = 5(3x + 2)

16x + 8 = 15x + 10

16x - 15x = 10 - 8

x = 2

Hence, age of ramu = 4x = 4(2) = 8 years

age of gopi = 3x = 3(2) = 6 years

Sum of present age = 8 + 6
                                   = 14 years
