LET THE PRESENT AGE OF FATHER BE x.

AND OF THE DAUGHTER BE y.

Then,

x/y = 3/1

=> x = 3y ----------------------(1)

Now , 4 YEARS AGO,

x-4 / y-4 = 4/1

so, x-4 = 4y-16

by using eq. 1

3y-4 = 4y-16

=> y. = 12

so x= 36.

so father's age after 2 years is 38

and daughters age after 2 years is 14.
