Step-by-step explanation:

area of larger triangle = 1/2 bxh

4x =10h

h=4x/10

a/q

h1=h2

area of smaller triangle=1/2bxh

3x =1/2 b(4x/10)

3x=4xb/20

3x=xb/5

b=15cm

Question:

The ratio of the areas of two tiangler with equal height

is 4:3. The base of the larger triangle is 20cm Find

the corresponding base of the small triangle

(In the question You have written corresponding spelling wrong) .

Answer:

Answer:-

Let the equal heights be H.

And base os smaller triangle be B.

It is given that ratio of areas of two triangles = 4:3.

So let the areas be 4x and 3x respectively.

Also area of a triangle = 1/2×B×H.

Clearly here 4x is larger than 3x so the triangle with area of 4x is larger.

And the base of larger side is 20 cm.

By putting it in value we get:-

1/2 × B × H = 4x.

=》 1/2 × 20cm × H = 4x.

=》 20cm × H = 8x.

=》 H20 cm = 8x.

=》 H = 8x/20cm

=》 H = 2x/5cm.

Also area of smaller triangle is 3x.

=》 1/2 × B × H = 3x.

=》 B × H = 6x.

=》 B × 2x/5cm = 6x.

=》 B × 2x = 30x cm.

=》 B = 30x/2x cm.

=》 B = 15cm.
