we are left with

h/ (h +r) = 1/2

cross multiply them.

you will get h= r. ie height and radius of cylinder are equal.

then they said that tsa = 616 cm ^2

thus 2 pi r (h+r) = 616

(bcuz we have h=r, we can replace value of h with r.)

on calculation you get 2 r^2 = 98

and thus r= h= 7 cm

volume formula of cylinder is 2 pi r^2 h

= 2 X 22/7 X 7X7X7

= 1078 cm ^3.
