Answer:

Energy = h ×c /wavelength

this means energy is inversely proportional to wavelength

so ration will be

2:1

Given :

Wavelength of radiation 1 (λ₁) = 200 nm

Wavelength of radiation 2 (λ₂) = 400 nm

To Find :

The ratio of the energy of a photons

Solution :

We know, Energy is inversely related to wavelength.

∴ Energy \alpha \frac{1}{Wavelength}

Ratio of energy of photon having wavelength 200 nm (E₁) to the energy of  photon having wavelength 400 nm (E₂) can be given as -

\frac{E_1}{E_2} = \frac{(Wavelength) _2}{(Wavelength) _1}  =  \frac{400}{200}  = \frac{2}{1}

Therefore, the ratio of the energy of a photon of 200 nm wavelength radiation to that of 400 nm radiation is 2 : 1
